Responsible AI Institute
A nonprofit organization focused on advancing responsible and ethical adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). UX Design and Content Strategy
Overview
Responsible AI Institute (RAII) is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing the responsible and ethical adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). With a mission to promote practical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence by government and business. RAII works to catalyze the design, development, and use of responsible and ethical AI by providing members with best practices and easy-to-use tools. This project was based on an Assessment they are thinking of putting on their website to help their partners. My task was to redesign the structure of the assessment and design what it could look like on the website. With the project, I did user research, user testing, prototyping, visual design, and content strategy. I used InVision to create the UI and UX designs
Role:
Prototyping, Content Strategist, UX Researcher, UI/UX designer
Goal:
Design a structure of the AI Assessment that reduces the amount of time it takes a user to take the assessment and to be embedded into the AI Global Website
Problem:
It's hard to assess whether a program is responsible and ethical so what questions should an assessment have in order to judge the ethics of the program? How specific should the questions be? How much time will a user take to answer the assessment without feeling tired or confused? How do make a Canadian-specific assessment to be applicable to any region around the world?
I started with an Excel Sheet
I started with an excel sheet and created a lo-fi prototype with PowerPoint slides, then a survey platform. I sent it to several colleges and asked follow-up questions. I observed their behavior while they took the assessment and timed them.
As result I created a high-fidelity prototype of what the assessment could be like on the AI Global Website.
Wrap Up:
I designed the assessment this way to streamline a in depth assessment and reduce the time it takes users to complete the assessment and then get resources to help understand the results
